Fight For Our Heroes - Fundraiser Follow-Up
The Fight For Our Heroes Fundraiser was held on March 8, 2014.
It was a special, fun filled evening. Our theme for the event was based on the 1940's, WWII era in honor of the veteran who was the inspiration for the fundraiser. (See his story on "One Hero's Story.)
Many people joined in the spirit of the evening and dressed in 1940's style clothing. And, the swing dancing and nostalgic music really helped to transport us back to the days of the old USO shows.
Our guest speakers - an Air Force Staff Sgt. and a local Mayor, shared some insightful and inspiring sentiments that added to the atmosphere of patriotism.
In addition, we had the opportunity to recognize and honor members of the military who joined us for the evening including Vietnam War veterans, Korean War veterans, a WWII veteran and members of active duty personnel.
Purpose - with the proceeds from this event we will be able to provide assistance for a veteran's family and for an active duty family.
Ongoing Mission - But, this if just the beginning. We want to continue to provide supplemental support and assistance for our military men, women and their families who may be experiencing a need. Your continued support will help to meet some of the everyday needs of our local active or retired military individuals and their families - the Heroes who fight for our freedom.
We hope you will consider continuing to support the Fight For Our Heroes Mission. Go to the Donations Page to see how you can contribute.
Thank You - we appreciate all those attended the event and the contributions we received for the fundraiser.
